TS4 Font Replacements… ¡¡Ahora en Español!!

Coming back from the void to say I've finally managed to make a font replacement mod that works in my game language, so I wanted to share it with all of you! Consider it a Simblreen gift 🖤

Ever since the first font replacements by thepancake1 and MizoreYukii came out, I've wanted them in my game. The problem was, my game is in Spanish, so the accented letters didn't work properly. Since then, I've been searching high and low for a way to make them work and that finally happened when I found this other replacement by @moonwoodmillz and this tutorial by @vyxated

So I got to work and holy shit I actually did it, look how pretty it looks!!

Besides Spanish, this mod should work in all languages that use Latin alphabet 1. Yes, English too. Haven't tested it, tho.

There are two options, and as with all replacements, you can only pick one. Enjoy!

Desde que salieron los primeros reemplazos de fuentes de thepancake1 y MizoreYukii, los he querido en mi juego. El problema era que mi juego está en español, así que las letras acentuadas no funcionaban correctamente. CAS ORGANIZERS "SPA"

Decidí crear mi propia versión de los Tidy CAS en español, ya que me di cuenta de que hay muchas versiones muy bonitas y diferentes PERO, todos en inglés y los pocos que hay en otros idiomas es en ruso y chino.

Considerando que la comunidad Simmer hispanohablante es muy grande, me pareció una buena idea crear un categorizador en español para mayor comodidad.

¿En qué consiste?

Consiste en la aparición de un elemento en el CUS "Crear Un Sim" que sirve como señalero para indicar el comienzo de una nueva categoría en las diferentes opciones de personalización del CUS, en especial en la sección de "Detalles de la Piel". Con este mod todos los elementos que están en la sección de "Detalles de la piel" estarán separados y serán fácilmente distinguibles.

¿Cómo lo añado?

¡Como cualquier mod! Coloca una de las opciones de archivo Package (OJO: Solo elige una de las opciones) en tu carpeta de Mods y listo.

Lvl 3: How to Mod the Sims for Diverse Gender Representation

Ready, player?

In my last blog post, I wrote about how recently the Sims 4 has made great progress with gender inclusivity. But today I wanted to discuss how mods and cc (custom content) can improve these features.

So, let’s get into it :)

Quick Download Tutorial

Installing mods for the Sims 4 on Windows is quite easy :)

First, you have to pick out the mod or custom content that you want. Most creators use SimsFileShare or their Patreon to store their mod files. Follow the ‘download’ button and your file will appear at the right of your screen.

Then as it downloads, open up your file and click on Documents, then Electronic Arts, then The Sims 4, then that will lead you to your Mods folder.

You will then click your downloaded file and drop it into your mods folder. For custom content, I organize my files into categories like hair, makeup, and outfits. However, for mods, you should just drop it in because layering files might cause the mod to break.

Then, boot up your Sims 4 and click Options on your main menu. This will open your settings and you will click Other, and check the box that says “Enable Custom Content and Mods.”

Then, restart your game, and once it is loaded back up, a mods folder will open up and list the mods you have in your game!

Queer Mods

Some of the best mods for gender representation in the Sims 4 are:

Lumpinou’s LGBTQIA+ / Gender & Orientation Overhaul Mod

Meep62’s Ingame Gender Transition Mod

PimpMySims4’s LGBT Mod

Zero’s Hormone Replacement Therapy Mod

Lumpinou’s mod encourages players to free their sims from the binary and is a fully customizable mod that expands the base game’s gender and sexuality features. It’s massive and allows players to make incredibly queer sims AND queer spaces with the LGBTQIA+ lot trait.

Meep62’s mod allows players to realistically represent their sims transition without enabling cheats and going into CAS. Through gameplay, players are given options to undergo gender affirmation surgeries, take hormones, and take voice training.

PimpMySims4’s mod is very similar to Lumpinou’s, where it expands on current gender and sexuality features, but this mod adds in LGBTQIA+ events like charity events, protests (City Living Expansion pack is needed), and queer gatherings.

Zero’s mod implements Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) where sims can get prescribed hormone medication, which impacts the sim’s moodlet buffs, their ability to gain and lose weight, and their appetite.

Custom Content

The world of Sims 4 custom content is MASSIVE. For this post, I will only focus on custom content that improves diverse gender representation. Here of some assets that I thought were cool:

sim_saurus’s recolored base game posters included 30 new variants

mightypistachio’s pride flag head scarfs

Although there is MUCH more to explore when it comes to the world of Sims 4 custom content, these are the ones I thought were some I’d add to my game in the future :)

Today's publication is one that I have been preparing for a long time and I am very excited.

Here's a figure of Nicole from Sonic Resonance AU designed by @angstsuccer (check out their account to find out more!).

I feel very proud to be able to say that I contributed my grain of sand to that AU with Nicole's design, and for that reason I also wanted to make a 3D model. Since my modeling skills aren't enough (although I hope they will be in the future), I use as a base the design of the Archie comics done by mikomagallona at Sketchfab (link below). Ironically, I took the classic Nicole design, which looks less like the Resonance than the modern one, which also has a model buuuut I didn't see it. Oops.

I've learned a lot during the process, in terms of modeling and painting. Although for most elements I took existing models, Nicole's jacket was made exclusively by me (finally applying my knowledge of hours of Blender tutorials) and I really like how well it fit. That's why there is an image only of it, I wanted to show it to you (?)

As for painting, it is the first time I painted a figure, and although I have spent many hours, I really liked the experience. It's not going to be the last one I paint (in fact, I'm already painting more-). As you can see, the eyelashes were very fragile and broke before they could be painted :'c

This is the happiest time I'm with something I've printed and that's why I'm also very excited to show it. I hope you like it at least one thousandth of what I like <3

La publicación de hoy es una que llevo preparando mucho tiempo y me hace mucha ilusión.

Os presento una figura de Nicole del Sonic Resonance AU diseñado por @angstsuccer (¡echadle un vistazo a su cuenta para saber más!).

Siento mucho orgullo de poder decir que aporté mi granito de arena a ese AU con el diseño de Nicole, y por eso mismo quería también hacerle un modelo 3D. Como mis habilidades de modelado no son suficientes (aunque espero que lo sean en el futuro), me basé en el diseño de los cómics de Archie hecho por mikomagallona en Sketchfab (enlace abajo). Irónicamente cogí el de la Nicole clásica, que se parece menos a la de Resonance que la moderna, que también tiene modelo pero no vi. Upsie.

He aprendido mucho durante el proceso, en cuanto a modelado y pintura. Aunque para la mayoría de elementos cogí modelos ya hechos, la chaqueta de Nicole la hice yo exclusivamente de cero (aplicando al fin mis conocimientos de horas de tutoriales de Blender) y me gusta mucho lo bien que me quedó. Por eso hay una imagen sólo suya, quería mostrárosla (?)

En cuanto a la pintura, es la primera vez que pintaba una figura, y aunque le he echado muchas horas, me ha gustado mucho la experiencia. No va a ser la última que pinte (de hecho, ya estoy pintando más-). Como podréis apreciar, las pestañas eran muy frágiles y se rompieron antes de poder pintarlas :’c

Esta es la vez que más feliz estoy con algo que he impreso y por eso también me hace mucha ilusión mostrarlo. Espero que os guste al menos una milésima parte de lo que me gusta a mí <3

Bueno, no sé si podría darte un consejo, pero te puedo mostrar más o menos cómo hago mis dibujos (O algo así)

En este caso usaré un dibujo de práctica de Blumy que hice para este momento, así que te lo dedico ^^* (Y por si tienes interés, el programa que uso cuando dibujo en la laptop es "firealpaca")

La estructura que usé es más o menos así, no sé si se entiende(?

Lo hago bastante raro, ya que también estoy aprendiendo a cambiar la estructura de mis dibujos para que se vean un poco más fluidos TT"

Dejé el boceto, aunque se ve algo sucio, pero así me quedó el boceto de este dibujo, acomodé la cabeza lo mejor que pude, ya que eso hago primero, y el boceto en general lo acomodé en el lienzo

Hago el lineart negro puro, normalmente en esta parte corrijo algunos errores o arreglo la posición de algunas cosas; y no sé si se note, pero cambio de estilo varias veces, el último cambio fue la nariz, lo hago con el motivo de que se me deje de dificultar algunas cosas cada vez que dibujo uwù*

El coloreado no le pude tomar capturas, porque todo lo hice en una sola capa, pero en general uso colores un poco más oscuros para pintar sobre los colores base que coloco (Y a veces colores más claros dependiendo mucho del dibujo, como en los ojos o en los aretes), y los mezclo con el pincel que uso para pintar, pero bajando la opacidad de este

También suelo pintar el lineart, pero sólo dentro del dibujo, las partes del lineart que salen del dibujo en sí los dejo en color negro

Estos ya son detalles que me gustan agregar, como el brillo en los ojos, y algunos puntos de colores (Aunque esto último recientemente lo coloqué en el dibujo para experimentar un poco)

No sé hacer fondos, así que literalmente coloco lo que sea, o hasta a veces sólo un color base, me falta demasiado mejorar eso xd

He only realized how mean that sounded once it'd already left his mouth. But he course-corrected with a quick grin and a shrug to accompany it. “But who am I to deny a lady the right to the best tutorial around?” Leo wanted to toss his hair for dramatic effect, but he ended up just sort of flicking some curls out of his face. “Have a seat. ¡Hola anon! Sí, el array _userdata tiene múltiples cosas que te pueden ser útil. Listita time:

activate_toolbar/fix_toolbar/notifications: Si la toolbar está activa su valor será 1, si la toolbar está desactivada será 0. No cambia al esconder la toolbar haciendo click en la flechita; es global, la misma para todo el mundo.

avatar: Genera una etiqueta con la src del avatar del user.

avatar_link: Genera solo el link de src del avatar del user.

session_logged_in: Si el usuario está conectado, genera 1, si es invitado, genera 0.

user_id: Número de ID del usuario (/uX = sólo genera la X).

user_lang: Lenguaje del usuario; es (español), en (inglés), fr (francés) etc.

user_level: Si el usuario es admin, será 1, si el user no tiene poderes de admin, será 0.

user_nb_privmsg: Cantidad de mps que tiene el usuario.

user_points: Cantidad de puntos que tiene el usuario.

user_posts: Cantidad de posts que tiene el usuario.

username: Nombre de usuario.

Puedes usar todas estas variables del mismo modo que indico como user username y avatar en el tutorial. ¡Saludos!
